- Design & Build Week attracts 14,532 industry professionals, up 8% on the previous year
- $16.8 billion in active project work represented by visitors on the exhibition floor
- 45:1 visitor-to-exhibitor ratio drives 47,000+ lead scans across the event
- Futurebuild Queensland confirmed for March 2027 following outstanding Sydney launch
Sydney, Australia – June 2026 – Futurebuild Australia has delivered an outstanding inaugural edition, anchoring Design & Build Week at ICC Sydney and immediately establishing itself as a significant new business platform for Australia’s design, building and development sectors.
Held at ICC Sydney from 11–13 June, Design & Build Week attracted 14,532 architects, builders, developers, designers, interior designers, specifiers and construction decision-makers across three co-located events, up 8% on the previous year, generating more than 47,000 lead scans and representing a combined $16.8 billion project pipeline on the exhibition floor.
What distinguished the launch edition was not only the volume of attendees, but the quality of the audience. Three quarters of visitors held ownership, leadership or management positions, 74% attended specifically to discover and purchase products and solutions, and 30% do not attend any other building and construction trade show in Australia, making Futurebuild Australia the only opportunity to reach a significant segment of the market.
Ash North, Event Director at Futurebuild Australia, said the response from the industry had exceeded expectations.
“The quality of this year’s audience was exceptional. Exhibitors were meeting the people who specify, procure and make purchasing decisions at scale. The feedback we’ve received has been overwhelmingly positive and that confidence is already showing in rebooking momentum that is tracking well ahead of target.
Futurebuild Australia exists to connect the people who design, build and develop Australia with the products, solutions and partners they need. What we saw on the floor was exactly that, thousands of meaningful conversations leading to real commercial outcomes.”
The strong launch has driven immediate momentum, with exhibitor rebookings already tracking ahead of target.
Futurebuild Queensland Confirmed for March 2027
Following the success of the Sydney launch, National Media is pleased to confirm Futurebuild Queensland will take place at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on 10–11 March 2027.
“Queensland is Australia’s most active construction market right now,” said North. “With a $116.8 billion infrastructure pipeline underway and 900,000 new homes needed across South East Queensland by 2046, the demand for building products, services and solutions has never been stronger. Futurebuild Queensland will be the only exhibition in the state dedicated to the building, design and development industry and we’re excited about what that means for exhibitors and visitors alike.”
The success of the launch event demonstrates the strength of Australia’s design, build and development sectors and confirms the industry’s appetite for a dedicated business platform focused on product discovery, commercial connections and industry growth. More importantly, it marks the arrival of a new industry platform, giving suppliers a dedicated marketplace to meet their customers, connect with new business and forge the partnerships that will help shape the next era of Australia’s built environment.
